The Gay Feather grows in the Mid-Western United States. Its height grows from two to four feet tall. It blooms from August through December. This Perennial herb is native to the Mid Western. The Petals are purple to lilac. The germination is twenty to forty-five days also the germination is what kind of seed it will bloom into. It grows along fence lines, open fields, or on road sides. Its soil prefers well drained, gravelly, or sandy soils. The liatris is extensevly used in the cut flower indrusty. The scientific name is the (Asteraceae) And the Scientific classifacation is the Liatris pychostachya.
